Book your child into this Ofsted registered creche with qualified members of staff who will look after your child while you enjoy the leisure centre. Booking Procedure 

Register the child at least 24 hours in advance and have a 15-minute trial session before the first booking. Each parent is giving a number and wristband to wear which must be returned on collection for their child. This is because only the person with the band and whose name is on the register will be able to collect the child. Children can attend the creche for a minimum of 15 minutes to a maximum of two hours and parents must remain on the centre premises at all times.

Admissions Policy at the Laura Trott Leisure Centre Creche

• Payment must be made at the reception upon booking
• Creche receipts must be handed to creche staff at the arrival
• On admission to the creche a member of staff will complete a registration form.
• The maximum number of children in the creche at any one time is 26 and this is depending on the staff ratio.
• Last minute bookings are not always possible as the allocation of the ratio of children to staff is completed the day before by the creche manager.

Settling-in Period

Children occasionally become upset and cannot be called. As a guide, if the child is not consolable within 10 minutes the parent will be informed.

Cancellation

Cancellations later than 4 hours before the start of the session will still be charged at the full amount and can only be transferred to another session at the creche managers’ discretion. To cancel please phone the reception on 01992 623345 so another child may take the place.

Equipment Toys

The toys in the Laura Trott Leisure Centre Creche provide opportunities for children to develop new skills and concepts in the course of their play and exploration. The equipment we provide is:

• Appropriate for the ages and stages of children’s development
• A selection of books, equipment and resources which promote positive images of all races cultures and abilities are nondiscriminatory and avoid racial and gender stereotyping. We regularly check maintain clean and replace any worn out dirty or damaged equipment.

Food and Drink

Food and drink brought in will be labelled when the child is signed in. The Laura Trott Leisure Centre Creche also provides juice or water and bread sticks. Snack time is approximately 10 a.m. and 11:15 a.m..

Health and Safety

If a child becomes ill during the session in the creche the parent will be informed. First aid at the creche is equipped with a first aid kit and trained first aiders. If a child has a minor accident we will treat them and fill out an accident form. A parent will be informed on their return and asked to sign the form. If your child has a more serious accident parent will be notified immediately.
